For those not familiar with Dothan’s Raunchy Dead, you are in for a delightfully morbid feast for the ears. This tight knit three piece has come roaring out of the deep south of Alabama over the past few years bringing their style of frenetic punk infused metal to the masses. Having released their self titled debut album, and having played a host of shows across the southeast, the band is ready to lead the assault on the eardrums of a restless world.
The band is fronted by the High Priestess of the Depths, Katera Walton, the godly bassist, whose wails hearken back to the best of the famed female vocalists of yore. At times you would almost swear she was possessed by the specter of a punk rock Janice Joplin herself, crawling her way from the grave. Sharing the vocal duties, and wielding an axe with unparalleled gritty resolve is Pat Carter, the Noise Artist Extraordinaire. Channeling a heady mix of Pantera style groove twisted with a brand all his own, he charges about the stage like a demon deacon on fire. Lastly, tying together the Raunchiness of Katera and the Deadness of Pat, is Kyle Patterson the King of Rhythmic Madness. Looking down from behind the kit, like some sort of barbarian royalty, he thrashes the skins as though leading an army to war.
This band is ready and willing to roar into your town and wow you with their ability. Invite them in soon however, before their undead crusade makes its to your cities walls, and they are forced to knock them down with an shattering aural attack! -Bob McGough
